Mahogany Obsidian is a form of volcanic glass that defies the laws of physics! Obsidian is an Igneous rock that forms when magma flows from a volcanic eruption. When the rock cools rapidly, Obsidian is formed. It cools so quickly that there is no time for a crystal structure to form, making obsidian the only rock to lack a microscopic crystal structure. Obsidian is hard and brittle, and was used by Native Americans to make arrow and spear heads, skinning tools and many other valuable tools before the invention of steel. 

These pieces of Mahogany Obsidian have a nice burgundy color with black inclusions, making them great example pieces. The majority of the pieces in each parcel are between 3-4cm, however some smaller pieces may exist in the parcel. These are also a great addition to many home décor projects.

Obsidian is thought to shield the wearer from negativity, release tension, and give the wearer a sense of calm and protection. Mahogany Obsidian specifically is thought to give stimulate growth on all levels, relieve pain when worn or carried and improve circulation. It also carries a gentle grounding energy.
