Opal is a hydrated amorphous form of silica, and because of its amorphous character it is referred to as a mineraloid. It's water content can range anywhere from 3% to 21% by weight but it is usually around 6-10%. The internal structure of opal causes it to diffract light.

These charming pieces have a warm sunlight yellow with a slight translucency that would make it great for delicate designs and any designs based around the Solar Plexus Chakra.
