Flint is a hard sedimentary cryptocrystalline form of Quartz, and is categorized as a variety of Chert. Flint can come in a range of colors including dark grey, black, green, white or brown, and usually has a glossy or waxy appearance.

This flint carved flame has colors to represent the flame and smoke associated, with shades of tan and orange being contrasted by grey to white swirls with some tan to bring all of the colors together and unite the piece.
