Canada’s Largest Gem and Mineral Store Announces September 7th Opening
Red Deer, AB – Locally owned and operated Silver Cove Ltd announced today that it will be merging its Red Deer and Lacombe locations into the largest such store in the country. The company met with employees last week to announce the exciting news.
Silver Cove is a true grass roots success story, starting in 2004 as a Farmers’ Market booth by husband and wife team Chris and Melissa Robak. “If you had told us fourteen years ago that our little six foot table would one day be the largest company of its kind in Canada, we never would have believed you,” said Melissa Robak as she spoke to staff. “We were lucky enough to recognize opportunities when they presented themselves, strong enough to get back up with things went wrong, and crazy enough to take the leap time after time.”
With two other locations in Edmonton and Calgary, co-owner Chris Robak felt that Red Deer was the perfect location for this business to base its headquarters out of. “Red Deer has a great energy and atmosphere, is a large center but not so big that customers can no longer effectively navigate the city. It has the opportunity for something world class, and we hope to be that something.”
The existing locations in Red Deer and Lacombe will transition into the new headquarters throughout the month of August while renovations of the building are underway. This new location will also house Silver Cove’s online division, light manufacturing, Canadian mineral cutting facility, and serve as a base of operations for the 23 Gem and Mineral Shows the company hosts across Canada.
Once in full operation, the facility is expected to be over 12,000 square feet including a 7000 square foot showroom, workshop/classroom, and outdoor rough rock area for all of Alberta to enjoy.
