This September, Silver Cove Red Deer is proud to host the Red Deer Rock N’ Gem Show, bringing four incredible days of crystals, minerals, fossils, gemstones, jewelry and unique treasures to Westerner Park.
For Silver Cove, Red Deer isn't simply another stop on the tour.
It's home.
From Our Red Deer Store to One of Our Biggest Local Events
Silver Cove has been part of the Central Alberta community for years, welcoming rockhounds, collectors, families and curious shoppers through the doors of our Red Deer store.
The Red Deer Rock N’ Gem Show gives us the opportunity to take that experience and make it much, much bigger.
For four days, visitors will be able to explore an enormous selection of crystals, minerals, fossils, gemstones, jewelry, beads, carvings, lapidary supplies, home décor, collector specimens and so much more.
Whether you've been collecting for decades or don't know your amethyst from your agate yet, you're welcome here.

There's Nothing Quite Like a Hometown Show
Throughout the year, the Silver Cove road crew travels thousands of kilometres bringing CanGems Rock N’ Gem Shows to communities across Canada.
We pack.
We drive.
We unload.
We set up.
We pack it all again.
And then we head to the next city.
But Red Deer gives us the chance to bring that travelling experience right back to the community where so much of it begins.
It's an opportunity to see familiar faces from our storefront, reconnect with longtime customers and collectors, and introduce entirely new people to the world of rocks, gems and minerals.

If you've only ever visited the Silver Cove Red Deer store, the sheer scale of the Rock N’ Gem Show might surprise you.
The show brings together an incredible variety of natural treasures and unique finds, with Silver Cove joined by vendors offering their own collections and specialties.
Take your time wandering through the booths.
Look closely.
Ask questions.
Pick things up.
Compare specimens.
And don't be surprised if the thing you end up taking home is completely different from what you originally came looking for.

Come Curious — You Might Leave a Rockhound
One of our favourite parts of the Rock N’ Gem Show is watching people discover just how fascinating the natural world can be.
A fossil can open a window into life millions of years ago.
A mineral specimen can show colours, structures and formations created naturally within the Earth.
And sometimes a child picking up one interesting rock is all it takes to begin a lifelong fascination with geology.
The show is a chance for visitors of all ages to see, explore, ask questions and learn while surrounded by an incredible variety of specimens.
You don't need to know anything before you arrive.
Curiosity is enough.
There's Even More Happening This Year
This year's Red Deer show is about more than treasure hunting.
We've planned hands-on creative workshops and special experiences throughout the event, giving visitors even more ways to enjoy the world of crystals and gemstones.
From creating your own gemstone pieces to experiencing fluorescent minerals under UV light, there's plenty happening beyond the regular show itself.
We'll be sharing all the details about those special events separately — so keep an eye out and start planning your weekend!
