Sodalite

Origin: Brazil

Size: 1cm - 3 cm, depending on size chosen

Weight: 1 lb

Product Type: One of Multiple

Sodalite is a blue tectosilicate mineral that sits at a 5.5 -6 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness. It is well known for its blue color, but can also be found in grey, yellow, green or pink. Often mistaken for Lapis, Sodalite rarely contains pyrite, and often has white veins of calcite running through it. Some rare forms of Sodalite include Tugtupite, Green Sodalite, and Hackmanite from the Narsaq Complex in Greenland.

These Sodalite pieces are polished and come in a one pound parcel. They have a beautiful darker blue color with white accenting, and range in size from one to five centimeters. The color on these pieces are vibrant and have a great range of color. They would be a great, colorful addition to a fish tank, fountain, floral display, or rose bowl with water as a centrepiece.

Sodalite is believed to help the throat and third eye chakras. It is useful in meditation, helps a person stay true to themselves, and brings harmony to group work. Some people use Sodalite to clear electromagnetic pollution. Sodalite is also thought to encourage intuition, rational thought, and emotional balance.
