This majestic Soapstone Lion carving is from a batch mined out of the Kisii District in Western Kenya, the inhabitants of Kisii are known as the Abagusii tribe. A number of the Abagusii people have developed a skill in selecting raw stones with naturally distinct White and Rose tones. It is 11" long and would sit beautifully on a mantle, on a bookshelf, or on a coffee table!

The carvings that are created using Soapstone are full of meaning and imagery, this piece is carved into a Lion which signifies primarily strength, authority, and command over subconscious thoughts.
