This calming Soapstone Hippo carving is from a batch mined out of the Kisii District in Western Kenya, the inhabitants of Kisii are known as the Abagusii tribe. A number of the Abagusii people have developed a skill in selecting raw stones with naturally distinct White and Rose tones. It is 12" long and would sit beautifully on a mantle, on a bookshelf, or on a desk in your office!
