Occa Geodes are found in the Tres Pinheiros region of Brazil by farmers, and are formed in openings with sedimentary and igneous rock. They have crystal centers with concentric rings of Quartz Agate, and are very popular for jewelry because of the unique and intricate patterns that form within them.
Quartz is a family of stones, with the pure form being clear to a milky white in color. Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in the Earth's crust; behind Feldspar. It sits at a 7 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness making it an ideal mineral for everything from jewelry to fountains!
This pendant is a remarkable example of the swirling colors and patterns that can be found within the Occa Agate geode slices; deep, rich brown/reds mingle with deep blues and creamy whites all together swirled and feathered. The inner ring on this piece has a dark blue crystal druzy, and both sides of the geode are polished to a bright shine. There is a small Quartz crystal set in silver at the base of the inner ring that sets off the whole piece.
Agates are thought to take you through the layers of yourself, and help you to learn more about who you are, letting go of blockages, and discovering what paths you should be exploring. Quartz Crystal is often called the master cleanser and is thought to cleanse both people and stones, and amplify the abilities of any stones in its energy field. Quartz is thought to be an essential stone for metaphysical well being.
