Barite, Cerussite, & Galena Specimen

Origin: Morocco

Size: 14 x 10 x 7 cm

Weight: 3 lb

Product Type: One of a kind

Galena (also known as lead glance) is the primary ore mineral of lead, and also a primary source of silver. It crystallizes in a cubic crystal system, and is also one of the most abundant sulfide minerals. Cerussite (also known as white lead) is another important ore mineral of lead and consists of lead carbonate, but Cerrusite crystallizes in the orthorhombic system. Barite is a white or colorless mineral consisting of barium sulfite, Barite can form into clusters of divergent blades creating a petal effect sometimes referred to as "Barite Rose" formations.

This particular piece has an outstanding appearance covered in Barite rosettes that have formed like small roses peeking out of the Galena. The Barite is a very light pink/orange that is set off by the white colored Cerussite and the steel grey Galena. This one-of-a-kind specimen would make an excellent display piece for any collection!

Galena is believed to be a deeply transformative stone, helping address deep fears that have long been buried. Cerussite is very compatible with Galena, as it is thought to help in spiritual transformation, and specifically a stone for use during meditation as it is very grounding. Barite and Galena both are considered to be harmonizing stones encouraging balance in the physical and spiritual planes.
