Bumblebee Jasper is actually not a Jasper at all as it contains no Quartz; Bumblebee Jasper is the trade name for a radially grown fibrous calcite found in Indonesia that has distinctive yellow, orange, and black banding. The yellow and orange coloring comes from finely dispersed realgar (an arsenic sulfide mineral), and the black is caused by pyrite.
This is a great Bumblebee Jasper specimen with it's polished shape showing off the intricate natural designs within the specimen. The deep swirling greys have a nice contrast against the vibrant patterns of orange and yellow in this piece. Overall this Bumblebee Jasper would be right at home as an accent in any room!
Bumblebee Jasper has some very interesting beliefs surrounding it, one unique belief is that it is great for encouraging healthy friendships, and helping ease feelings of jealousy. Bumblebee Jasper is thought to be a stone of understanding, and is believed to aid in relieving an emotionally burdened heart.
