Ammonite Fossil, Matching Pair Specimen

Origin: Madagascar

Size: 3 x 4 cm (each)

Weight: 25 g (together)

Product Type: One of a kind

Ammonites are fossilized Ammonoids, which are an extinct group of marine mollusc animals in the subclass Ammonoidea. Ammonites make excellent index fossils to pinpoint exact geological time periods. The ammonoid cephalopods became extinct along with the dinosaurs at the close of the Cretaceous era.

This matching set of Ammonite fossils has been polished along the inner sliced sides to show the incredible details hidden within. The coloring is a deep brown on the inside, and there is a slight iridescence on the outer shell; making this set ideal for displaying!

Ammonite is a very interesting fossil to study, and it is even believed to carry metaphysical benefits. The spiral shaping is thought to symbolize continual change, and it is thought that because of their great age they have absorbed energy throughout the eons and can be used to stimulate Chi (life-force).
